The performance of transport networks between base stations and the core is the foundation of mobile communications. Even if a smartphone connects to a 5G signal, true 5G performance cannot be achieved without high-capacity backhaul systems that efficiently carry data traffic.

ubiQuoss was the first in Korea to develop a 5G mobile backhaul solution, successfully passing stringent qualification tests from major telecom operators and achieving commercial deployment. Building on its LTE backhaul heritage, ubiQuoss mobile access technologies have supported phased network evolution across generations, including 5G slicing capabilities. Moving toward the 6G era that will accommodate AI workloads, we are preparing for the next evolution of core mobile infrastructure.

Solution Overview

ubiQuoss Mobile Access Solutions provide an integrated management environment covering both fronthaul and backhaul segments.

Fronthaul Switch delivers low-latency transport for high-capacity traffic between RU and DU, ensuring stable mobile network operations. Compared to WDM-based fronthaul architectures, Ethernet-based deployment reduces CAPEX and improves operational efficiency. Enhanced network visibility and observability further improve monitoring and fault management efficiency.

Backhaul Switch provides a high-performance switching environment supporting 100GE uplinks and up to 25GE downlinks. Built on proven reliability validated in large-scale operator networks, it enables stable operation of commercial mobile infrastructures.


 

High-Performance Traffic Transport

Meets the high bandwidth and ultra-low latency requirements of large-scale 5G networks. High-density packet processing ensures low latency performance, while Deep Packet Buffer technology maintains stable transmission and service quality even during traffic surges.

Precise Clock Synchronization

Supports precise time and phase synchronization required for 5G networks (SyncE, IEEE 1588v2). It ensures stable synchronization across fronthaul and backhaul segments, maintaining data integrity and enabling reliable operation of latency-sensitive services such as autonomous driving and smart factories.

Flexible Network Evolution Architecture

Based on a flexible Ethernet architecture, it supports next-generation network environments such as 5G network slicing. It also enables interoperability with legacy systems and phased migration, ensuring efficient evolution alongside technological advancements.

Unified Management and Reliable Network Operations

An integrated management framework covering base station switches enhances network visibility. By controlling complex mobile access environments through a unified interface, it improves fault analysis and response efficiency while enabling highly reliable network operations.
