For interfacing between the 1xEV-DO system and an IP Network, the ATM-IP System provides IP interface connected to an xDSL or Metro Ethernet network and an ATM leased line interface. The ATM-IP System enables a mobile service provider to reduce the leased line cost and guarantees the same quality as a legacy interface without the legacy interface modification.
¤ýActive/Standby Redundancy guarantees system reliability
¤ýHot Swappable Function Support for Service Contiuability
¤ýQuick and comfortable system set-up
¤ýAdministrator-friendly operation management environment
¤ýNetwork Security/Protection Function
ATM-IP includes both a Client and Master System.
The ATM-IP Master System can manage and interwork with up to 32 Client Systems by interfacing with an ATM Line.
The Master System consists of the following modules:
MSMB (Main System Management Board) for System Management & Operation
NIB (Network Interface Board) for IP Network Interface
AIB (ATM EI Interface Board) for ATM E1 Interface
FAN Module
Power Supply Module
The ATM-IP Client System provides high-speed data transmission service from the ATM E1 Interface Access Point (AP) by networking with the ATM-IP Master system via an xDSL network.
The ATM-IP Client System consists of a box-type standalone system and supports Ethernet interface (redundancy) for xDSL modem connections and ATM E1 Interface for AP connections. From an xDSL interface, the Client System connects to the ATM-IP Master System.
To improve reliability, the system¡¯s Ethernet interface is designed on Active/Active redundant architecture. In addition, the ATM-IP Client System can be assigned via PPP or DHCP, and all of 2 Ethernet interfaces can receive IP assignments. Therefore, in the case of one Ethernet port failing, service interruption (and prompt provisioning) is minimized due to the xDSL Interface (redundancy) architecture. |
