The VDSL2 system of Ubiquoss is high performance set of DSLAM and CPEs which enables highest possible traffic bandwidth of 100Mbps (both way, at peak rate). The system can be applied to optical fiber or Ethernet base subscriber network where it executes the functions of concentration and switching. The VDSL2 DSLAM is usually placed at regional office, MDF room of MTU/MDU or various forms of outdoor containers.
The VDSL2 system of Ubiquoss is connected to user device via VDSL2 modem. By using of the layer 2 Ethernet switching function the system can be integrated into any forms of small or medium size networks. With the feature of hardware based multicasting function like IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) snooping, the system can effectively support real time streaming services which are core requirements for next generation multimedia applications.
Ubiquoss¡¯ VDSL2 system can support differentiated TPS services according to SLA (Service Level Agreement) based upon its powerful bandwidth management function and QoS (Quality-of-Service) handling ability.
Ubiquoss¡¯ VDSL2 system has equipped VDSL2 service interface based upon DMT technology which guarantees 100/100 Mbps up/down symmetrical communication. The available bandwidth the system can guarantee varies according to the implemented profiles, and the highest rate is 100Mbps at maximum in both Uplink and Downlink individually (symmetrical mode).
Ubiquoss¡¯ VDSL2 system is an IP based VDSL system having Layer2 switching function. Thus it supports all the variety of L2 switches including VLAN, Rate limit, Port trunking, Port mirroring, IGMP Snooping, Packet filtering.
L2 function ¤ý802.1Q VLAN (support 256 VLAN Id) & VLAN Trunking ¤ý802.1D Spanning Tree Protocol ¤ý802.1W RSTP, PVSTP ¤ý802.3ad Link Aggregation(100Base-FX Up-Link) ¤ýDHCP Relay
- Circuit-ID: Port information which the relevant user is connected
- Remote-ID : MAC address of the Relay device
QoS function
In order to guarantee differentiated service and improved quality, the system has been equipped with the following QoS functionalities. ¤ýThe QoS policy that Ubiquoss¡¯ VDSL system has chosen classifies packets based upon collectable facts
as below;
- Layer 1: Port number
- Layer 2: Source / Destination MAC address, VLAN ID, CoS field
- Layer 3: Source / Destination IP address, TOS, DSCP field
- Layer 4: Source / Destination TCP/UDP Port number ¤ýMarking and Remarking according to the contents of the values of DSCP and COS fields ¤ý8(Eight) queues are made available for each port. ¤ýEfficient scheduling is implemented utilizing SPQ(Strict Priority Queue), WRR(Weighted Round Robin) ¤ýQueuing algorithms like WFQ(Weighted Fair Queue) and DWRR(Deficit Weighted Round-Robin Queuing)
are also available
Security function
Ubiquoss¡¯ VDSL system is equipped with following security functions. ¤ýThe system can execute DHCP filtering function in order for a certain subscriber not to be assigned
unintended private IP address from irrelevant DHCP server. It intercepts DHCP offer packet from subscriber
ports and DHCP discovery packet from uplink ports. ¤ýThe system shall not disclose any one user¡¯s share folders to another by way of providing NetBEUI,
NetBIOS and NBT filtering functions. ¤ýThe system is able to put limitation upon the number of MAC addresses which could be set to a number
among 1 to 16 per any VDSL subscriber port. Initial number is set to one. ¤ýThe system is able to put limitation upon the number of packets which are generated every second from
broadcast, DLF (Destination Lookup Failure), multicast functionality. ¤ýThe system can shut off any abnormal traffic which has illegal Source MAC address (All 0's, All F's,
multicast MAC, CPU MAC) ¤ýThe system can also shut off any abnormal traffic which has unexpected Source IP addresses such as
private IP address, all F's, or 127/8. ¤ýThe system can detect the occurrence of loop in the VDSL subscriber port and isolate the corresponding
port if needed. ¤ýThe system is unharmed and operable even when the TCP Sync Attack would be present. ¤ýThe system is also unharmed and operable even when the TCP Port Scan Attack would be present. ¤ýThe system provides the CLI command of dumping packets which is helpful to analyze traffics. ¤ýBy setting the MAC address of the aggregation switch(Default Gateway) as static, the system can cut off
the traffics which come from subscriber ports having the same MAC address as its source. ¤ýIf the traffic would be over a pre-determined threshold in terms of packets per second, the system can
temporarily block the port and return it to normal status.
Multicast function As the Multicast service, the following functions are implemented. ¤ýIGMPv1/v2 ¤ýIGMP Snooping(Fast Leave, Report Suppression) ¤ýNumber of Multicast groups available: 200 ¤ýMulticast filtering function. ¤ýMulticast security functions.
- Filtering function to prevent from warm virus attack
- Isolation of harmful traffic from subscriber ports
OAM function
The system has the following OAM functionalities. ¤ýWhen the system is rebooted, all the settings of parameters automatically get back to original values. ¤ýThe operation status of the system is displayed by LED. ¤ýRemote upgrade of software is possible by downloading the image file. ¤ýRemote access by both local console connection and Telnet is available for convenient administration
works. ¤ýBy requesting for password upon login process at console or Telnet connection, the system can restrict
undesirable access. ¤ýBy using of SNMP, the following network management functions are implemented.
- The integrity of status information is kept always.
- Per port status query and control are possible.
- Browsing and referencing of the allotted IP addresses are available.
- SNMP Trap for link up/down and system initialization is available.
- Setting and updating of community is possible.
- Browsing the performance data of input/output traffic processing is possible. ¤ýWhen allowing the remote access for administrative works (e.g. SNMP, Telnet), the system can permit
or restrict any particular IP address. ¤ýThe status of VDSL link (Link speed, connection/disconnection, SNR info, etc) is available by using of
Local Console or Telnet. ¤ýEvery variable of statistics can be reset by a command. ¤ýThe system can gather and supply appropriate data regarding system operation, control and other
general information of the system;
-It enables related information to be registered into the OAM system which include graphical command
description, system adjustment method, manual, urgent recovery, unit information, MIB information.
-It supports automatic S/S upgrade, configuration check/back-up, configuration recovery, port trace
(packet dump), SNMP setting, SYSLOG setting, and other configurations. ¤ýThe system can change the software configuration concerning network operations (e.g. subscriber
addition/deletion/change, interface setup) without halting the system operation. ¤ýAll the FAN that are installed in the system are to checked by LED display and warning message are
maintained in SNMP and Syslog. ¤ýThe temperature of the system can be measured and reported whenever it needs to, and warnings for
overheated or overcooled status are maintained in SNMP and Syslog.
